Roth signs with Vincennes University

Delphi Community High School has been home to a plethora of student athletes who have decided to continue both their academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level. Whitney Arion, Cole Murray, and Garrett Johnson are among this prestigious group of Oracles who excelled in their sport of choice. Now, senior Myka Roth has officially taken her spot as one of Delphi’s greats after recently signing her National Letter of Intent to play basketball at Vincennes University in Indiana.

During her tenure at Delphi, Roth was successful on and off the court. The 5’11” small forward was a two time All-Hoosier Conference selection, found herself on multiple all tournament teams, and also excelled in the stat book averaging close to 20 points per game. In addition, Roth accomplished what many high school basketball players, boys or girls, never have the chance of achieving—she reached the 1,000 point milestone.  After her final game in a Delphi uniform, Roth finished with a total of 1070 points. This is an incredible feat taking into account that a majority of those points came from two-point field goals in the lane. When asked about this achievement, Roth replied, “It was truly amazing. I felt so excited and blessed at the same time.”

Why Vincennes? Besides the opportunity to continue her basketball career, Roth also loved the atmosphere of Vincennes University. “I really enjoyed the campus. It felt like a home away from home for me.” The business program easily caught Roth’s eye as well as she looks to major in Business Administration. As she transitions into college, Roth will join a team that knows success. The Vincennes Lady Blazers finished with a strong 29-6 record last season.
