Welcome to North Shore High, where The Plastics run the school. I’m Gretchen Weiners, your number one gossip girl, and this past weekend I was happy to participate in Mean Girls: The Musical. We followed the story of my friend, Cady Heron. She spent most of her life in Africa with her scientist parents until she moved to North Shore. Cady finally got the American experience of public school, learning rather quickly that everyone has their own place. She found herself in the good graces of my friend group, called “The Plastics,” but Cady soon realizes why the nickname stuck. She eventually decided to just be herself, which was honestly so fetch of her. I mean, it’s not every day that you stand up to the Regina George.
Some of you may be wondering: how was this musical? Well, maybe you would have known if you went. But, you didn’t, which is really too bad, because you missed out on a really good performance. All jokes aside, it was really a great experience. The music was great, the clothes were fantastic, and, as always when it comes to us Plastics, there was a massive crowd of people. And except for a few mishaps backstage, we kept the show running relatively smoothly. It was an all-around fantastic weekend. Like a giant party, only a lot more singing.
So, long story short, it was fun. It was funny. And of course, it was fetch. Everyone in the musical did a great job, and I can’t wait to be in the spring play next semester. Until then, this is Gretchen Weiners signing off.
