Boy’s Basketball Sectional Preview

Boys Basketball Sectional Preview

Boys Basketball Sectional kicks off this Tuesday 2/27, with the Central Catholic Knights facing the Seeger Patriots at 6pm, and the Oracles following, taking on the rival Carroll Cougars at 7:30. Both Central Catholic and Seeger have finished off their seasons with a winning 14-8 record, Seeger with a higher Conference record of 5-2. Last time they competed, Central Catholic secured a narrow victory of 4, winning 51-47, making this first sectional round anyone’s game. Carroll finished their season with a winning 14-9, and Delphi with a 11-12 final record, almost matching last year’s record of 12-12. Carroll won against Delphi last month by a 3-pointer, 57-60, so Delphi is looking forward to a second chance to win! In reference to junior Walker Jones’ interview with WLFI, junior Braydn Gleason said in anticipation of the game “We are gonna keep up that D, play hard, and get buckets”. The Oracles are optimistic about their chances against Carroll, carrying some forward momentum from senior Chase Almager’s 1,000th career point last game! The winner of Central Catholic v. Seeger will play Clinton Prairie on Friday March 1st at 6pm, and the winner of Delphi v. Carroll will play Covington on Friday as well at 7:30. The Championship game will take place the following evening at 7pm on Saturday.
