Boys’ Basketball

New coach Adam Ballard looks to continue the success on the hardwood after previous coach, Mike Lewis, left for a new job. The Oracles return two starters including leading scorer from last season, senior Brent Hawn. Ballard will also look to fellow seniors Mason Lane, Adam Shanks, Adam Zink, and Tyler Ross and junior Blaine Walters for support. The boys start their season on the road at Clinton Central Nov. 26, followed by the Kitchen Classic the following week.

Girls’ Basketball

Coach Dan Dawson returns all five starters from last year’s squad,  none of which are seniors. The young team will look to juniors Tatum Minier, Myka Roth, and Danielle Swayze for leadership this season. The Lady Oracles already have a 4-2 record on the year, including an impressive 57-50 victory over Lafayette Jefferson. In the annual Kitchen Classic, the Lady Oracles made it to the championship game but came up short.

Wrestling

Coach Mike Atwood and the wrestling team look to have another successful season on the mats. The wrestling team has sent at least one wrestler to the state finals in each of the last nine years. Last year’s qualifier, Hunter Mote, injured his knee during football season and will be sidelined during the first part of the season. Kenny Zaldivar and Mason Gray have been semi-state qualifiers and look to take the extra step and qualify for state.

Swimming

Both the boys’ and the girls’ team will of need to rebound after a solid group of seniors graduated last year, including state qualifier, Cameron Burns. For the girls, seniors Addie Bradshaw and Haley Sales will pace the Oracles. For the boys, the Pearson twins, Cole and Tanner, will try to fill the void left by Burns. Senior Kolt Kinsler was a regional qualifier a year ago in the diving competition and will look to go further in the state tournament.
