“I will honor Christmas in my heart and keep it all year long,” Charles Dickens wrote in his classic tale, A Christmas Carol. This quote seems quite appropriate given the fact that auditions for a very Christmas-y tale are being held in September!
The Delphi Opera House will be hosting auditions for A Christmas Carol on Sept. 13 and 14 from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. The play will require a large, flexible cast of all ages to bring the beloved tale to life. Kyle Borcz, who has been very involved in the Lafayette Civic Theatre, will be directing the play. The Opera House has selected the script by Brian Way, and everyone’s favorite characters will of course be featured in the play: Scrooge, Bob Cratchett, Tiny Tim, the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, and Jacob Marley. Also, there will be an opportunity for the musically inclined to audition by singing. “It is A Christmas Carol so we will definitely want to include music!” stated Sara Daly-Brosman, Executive Director of the Delphi Opera House.
This is a perfect opportunity for first-time actors to stretch their legs. It is a play filled with small parts for the nervous and shy, but also provides chances for a person to really shine.. The Delphi Opera House would love to have both new and old faces!
The performances for A Christmas Carol will be Nov. 18, 19, and 20.
