The musical You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown is coming to Delphi Community High School. Try-outs will be Tuesday, Jan. 27 and Thursday, Jan. 29 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Audition forms are available in the front office.

You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown allows the characters of the well-known Peanuts comic strip to come to life. The award winning Broadway musical features a small cast, but newcomers should not be discouraged. While the cast for this show normally only consists of six roles (Charlie Brown, Lucy van Pelt, Schroeder, Linus van Pelt, Sally Brown, Patty, and Snoopy), a chorus of around ten students will be cast as well.

The show’s director, Kayla Haley, gives this advice to anyone looking to audition, “Debbie (the director of music) and I are looking for high energy students to portray these well-known characters! I would advise anyone interested in auditioning to have fun! Charlie Brown is a comedy! Do your research, become familiar with the show style and the characters, be prepared with your audition material (audition form, monologue, and song), and don’t try to be too serious.”

Kayla also strongly suggests that all who plan to audition avoid any Taylor Swift songs when they make their song selection and wishes them all the best of luck. More information on rehearsal and showtimes will be available at a later date.
