Daddy’s Home Review

Throughout 2015, I have seen many movies. Most of the movies that I have seen in theaters have, with the exception of the big hits like Mockingjay Part II and Star Wars, all failed to impress. Fortunately, Hollywood must have decided to end the year with a bang!

Daddy’s Home was a necessary comedic relief from this year’s disappointments. In this film, Will Ferrell plays a man who has dreamed of becoming a father but finds he is unable to have children. He meets his perfect woman with kids and works hard to be the best dad he can to them with some obstacles. Things with the children begin to look up, but when their biological father (Mark Wahlberg) comes home, the obstacles only grow more plentiful.

Going to see Daddy’s Home with my close friends was a highlight of my winter break. With a duo like Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, it was difficult to go wrong with this movie. Their comedic chemistry was spot on and their relationship as father and step-father on-screen was realistic. The competition between them gets to be quite hilarious since the character Ferrell plays is somewhat dorky.

If you’re looking for a good laugh and love witty humor, go see this movie because, well, it’s been about one of the only ones I haven’t regretted spending $8 on.
