On Tuesday, September 2nd, the senior English classes welcomed guest speaker, Clay Adams. He was asked to come speak to these classes to inform students about Free Application for Federal Student Aid, more commonly known as FAFSA. Adams referred to the application as a “funding source for postsecondary education.” This essentially means that FAFSA can provide grants, scholarships, and loans to students. Applications for the aforementioned open October 1st, 2025 and are due April 15th, 2026. Furthermore, at DCHS on October 16th, 2025 at 6pm, students and their parents will have the opportunity to have additional help and information regarding completing the application itself.
In class on September 2nd, the seniors also received help to create an FSA ID, which is required for students in their final year of high school in the state of Indiana. Another requirement for graduation as of roughly 2 years ago is completing the FAFSA, which requires both students and their parents to create an FSA ID. If any student is presently experiencing difficulties with the FSA ID or would like help filling out the application, they should consider stopping by October 15th!
