The first thing visitors see when arriving at the Farmers Market is the information stand.

Do it in Delphi is something new the city of Delphi is trying. Every third Saturday of the month there is some kind of special deal at most of our local small businesses in town. Along with the great deals, you can also go and shop at the Farmers Market set up around the square.

Do it in Delphi first started in May of 2021. To participate you buy the ¨Do it in Delphi¨ tote bag from participating businesses, then take your bag to participating businesses and unlock special deals. You can reuse your tote bag every 3rd Saturday to continue the deals. To find out what businesses are participating, find the monthly checklist on the Do it in Delphi Facebook page or at local retailers.

It all began when a local group of business owners were trying to come up with ways to draw people to the downtown area. The goal was to get people to town to eat, shop, and support small and local businesses. Laura Greene, owner of Urban Chique Boutique and strong supporter of the Do it in Delphi campaign, said, ¨We came up with the name and loved how we could play off the words “Hey! Do it in Delphi; Have you done it in Delphi?; Come do it in Delphi; etc.¨ As time has passed, word has gotten out, and more people have gotten involved.

The Main Street Organization helped add the Farmers Market which only helped grow the whole endeavor. While the Farmers Market and other vendors around the square are seasonal, and primarily in summer months, there will still be food trucks on third Saturdays. There are many benefits for the city as well. Do it in Delphi promotes the city and all it has to offer. The more people that come to Delphi for events such as this, the more visitors we could have in the future and the more possible residents as well.

At the most recent Do it in Delphi Saturday which was on Oct 15, the Do it in Delphi leaders hosted a 5k run/walk which started and ended in the square, and went all throughout the historical district. They also had tons of cool things around the square such as a DJ, a kid zone, and so much more. The town of Delphi has so much to offer, and Do it in Delphi is just one way to encourage people to visit.
