The Semper Fi award is given once a year to a coach who demonstrates “honor, courage and commitment” throughout the football season. It isn’t based on wins or losses, championships or records. It is given to a coach who develops leaders and good citizens throughout the season. This year, Delphi football coach Josh Strasser was honored with the award out of all the football coaches in the state of Indiana.

Coach Strasser was nominated for the award by a local coach and strengthened his bid for the award by having service members at practice last season to talk to the players. He has also started an annual veteran’s night, where local veterans are honored at home football games. Coach Strasser stated that he felt  “honored and humbled”  to receive this award.
