Graduates are often asked all the questions when they graduate from high school. Has anyone ever asked what the parents of those former students think of their kids graduating?
Luckily, there are teachers in the Delphi School Corporation with kids that graduated last year. I thought it was prime time to ask the big questions.
I was lucky enough to get an interview with Mrs. Gasser, the 6th grade middle school math teacher. Mrs. Gasser’s son, Cayden Gasser, graduated last spring. Mrs. Gasser was gracious enough to share her thoughts on what it is like having a child graduate and move beyond high school.
1.Q-How do you feel now that your child has graduated?
A-I’m excited for this new chapter in his life but sad that he isn’t home anymore.
2.Q- What was your favorite part of being a parent to your child?
A-Watching him grow as a person and become a young adult along with the sports that he participated in.
3.Q-Were you more happy or sad to see your child graduate from high school?
A-Happy,very happy for Cayden. He is also happy with his new life.
4.Q-What was your favorite part of your child’s senior year?
A-Watching him grow as a leader in life along with athletics and other passions he has.
5.Q-Were you ready for your child to graduate?
A-Definitely!
6.Q-If you could have said something to him before he walked up onto that stage and gotten his diploma, what would it have been?
A-That I am proud of you and all of your accomplishments and what you have done with your life. Also, I am proud that you keep growing stronger everyday. (Tears were involved in answering!)
