Valentine’s Day is a nationally recognized day of love and appreciation of your special someone. Many opt to spend it by burying their loved ones in chocolate and everything heart-shaped, while others spend the night in town watching the latest romantic movie or eating at a fancy restaurant. Luckily, for these special Oracle couples they get to spend their Valentine’s Day with their special someone in the love-inspiring environment that we know as DCHS. This year’s featured couples are Cameron Burns and  Mikayla Powlen, Blade Best and Jersey Lattimore, Case Payne and Lindsey Kibler, Blaine Walters and Erika Carroll, Dylan Hart and Myka Roth.

Cameron Burns and Mikayla Powlen

(MP) We’ve been dating for a year and 2 months.

(CB) We met my junior year in the Little Theater.

(MP) We went and watched a movie.

(CB) I appreciate how Mikayla is always happy and makes my day 10x better.

Blade Best and Jersey Lattimore

(JL) Blade and I have been dating for 3 years 4 and a half months.

(BB) Freshman year before school started

(JL) Our first date was at basketball game and the best part about is was a little kid had to put our hands together because we were nervous.

(BB) I love how beautiful she is when she is smiling. and when she doesn’t know how happy she makes me even though I try to tell her every day.

Case Payne and Lyndsey Kibler

(LK) nearly three months

(CP) We met freshman year in Mr. Conner’s SRT.

(LK) On our first date we went to my sister’s house to hang out and have dinner together. We were both nervous, but it was the most adorable thing ever. Just trust me on that one, he is a true gentleman. Chivalry is not dead yet ladies. I have proof!

(CP) I greatly appreciate her sense of humor and honesty.

Blaine Walters and Erika Carroll

(BW) Middle school

(EC) We went to the movies to see The Conjuring and to Taco Bell.

(BW) I appreciate how well she treats me, her personality rocks my socks off, she’s everything that I could ask for… oh… and she’s cute.

Dylan Hart and Myka Roth

(DH) 4 months

(MR) preschool

(DH) We went to the movies.

(MR) He is kinda cute and doesn’t smell too bad.
