Friday, January 26 presented an afternoon of fun for the students and staff of DCHS. Classes ended at 2:15 and the student body gathered in the gym, along with the entire middle school, to honor the winter sports athletes and the Homecoming court, and to play games to promote school spirit and get the boys’ basketball team ready for their game against Tri County. After a performance by the cheerleaders, the middle school and high school athletes were introduced. Then the dance team performed their annual routine, featuring members of the male faculty. How often do you get to see the likes of Mr. M., Mr. Nelson, Mr. Gilbert, Mr. Rettig, Mr. Tylenda, and even Superintendent Briles at center court getting their groove on?

The pep session ended with class competitions. Mrs. Murray won the middle school game of knock-out, and Kooper Myer won the high school battle. In a final knock-out contest, Mrs. Circle, Coach McCammon, and Cade Murray were added in, and Cade reigned victorious. The final competition pitted members of each class against each other in an epic egg cracking battle won dramatically by freshman Dalton Jones.
