Must-have free streaming apps in our time of need
During our time in quarantine you can only watch so much cable and movies that you have on hand. So, to pass the time and make quarantine a little easier I have put together a list of my favorite free streaming services to hold you over. Stay home, stay safe, and watch some tv for free.
- Pluto tv – a free app with more than 250 free channels.
- IMDb – a free app to download and use. The downside is that there is not much content, but they do update and put new shows and movies on frequently.
- Tubi – another free tv streaming service. The only downside is that you have to watch ads. Think of it like commercials — you can get through it.
- Snagfilms – You won’t find any big name movies and tv shows on here, but you will find independent films and documentaries. Who knows? Maybe you will find your new favorite film or learn something you never thought you would know.
- FilmStruck – This is a free streaming service that caters to foreign, rare, classic, arthouse, and independent films. Just because it is old or foreign doesn’t mean it’s bad. And don’t be afraid of the big bad subtitles.

If you want to use your library card or little code the students got in middle school for books I suggest “kanopy”. It’s a site where you just plug in your library code and you get tons of free movies. I used my card from the Delphi Public Library and the first thing I watched was “Tusk”. Very scary.
