Proud to be a 90’s kid
My fellow seniors, be proud, not because we’ve almost completed our tenure as high school students, but because we are soon to enter the world as the last of the 1990’s crop. My childhood, like many others, was one of complete simplicity and serenity. My curfew was lightning bugs, my mom called my name, not my cell, and if I didn’t eat what mom cooked, I simply didn’t eat. This defined me. This was the world that I was thankful to grow up in. As we continue to grow, the world around us is changing. Things aren’t as simple as they were many years ago, and one shudders to think if they ever will be again. Regardless, let’s take this time to reflect on the times that bring back so many memories of happier times.
Limited Too
If you dare say that your closet wasn’t full of mismatched, poorly color schemed clothing from this store then you’re a lying liar. Don’t be ashamed, friends, this was Heaven as a 12 year old. Just be thankful you decided to mature a bit.
Rugrats
If you watched this every Saturday morning, we can be friends. To this day, I still catch myself looking up the theme song on Youtube. No shame, friends.
Zoobook Infomercials
Ladies and gentlemen, the father of all infomercials has arrived. This was the sign that you’d been sitting in front of the TV for far too long.
Squeezit
Okay, I’m not even ashamed to say that the sight of these still makes me jump for joy in the middle of the grocery store.
Homeward Bound
This movie still makes me cry every single time. I mean, that ending? Nope, I won’t spoil it for you.
Are you reminiscing yet? Is your heart full of joy? If so, my job is complete. Like you, these pictures reminded me of what molded me into the person I am today. These times may be gone, but thanks to our memories, they will never be forgotten. I’m proud to be able to call myself a 90’s kid.
