Delphi Community High School is presenting The Canterbury Tales on Nov. 15-17 in the Little Theater. The Canterbury Tales consists of stories told by travelers on their way to Thomas Becket’s shrine in Canterbury. The Hostess, played by sophomore Kate Layman, proposes a scheme that each pilgrim must tell a story on the way to shorten the trip. As the journey continues, each traveler has a designated time to tell their story, and in the end, there is a vote to determine the best story.
Kate Layman, one of the many leads, is nervous for this weekend’s production. “I, personally, believe this will be a challenge because none of the cast is used to plays like this. I am anxious to see how our audience responds and I am wonderfully excited to perform,” she expressed.
“After hours of rehearsal, I think we can make this performance amazing. We have a great cast this year. My biggest hope for this weekend is that the audience has as much fun as we do. We hope to see you all there,” exclaimed senior Kayleen Baker.
Delphi has been blessed with great performers, directors, and a great stage. The cast has been working hard and is ready to impress this weekend.
Showtimes are Friday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16 at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, Nov. 17 at 2:00 pm.
