Delphi Community High School offers many opportunities for students who like to sing, and the goal of any devoted singer in the school system is to be a part of the Entertainers.
The Entertainers are a group of talented singers who are selected to perform for the school and the community. Under the direction of Mr. Kevin Kayser, the Entertainers have had years of success. Over the years they have competed in state and national competitions, consistently coming home with gold ratings.
The Entertainers have been around for more than 40 years; however, in the early days they were referred to as The Top 20. The group used to be more like a club, just meeting twice a week in the evenings; but now Entertainers is offered as a course and they can practice every day. The Entertainers work very hard and never fail to provide great entertainment for the community.
Senior Kevin Matricia is excited about this year’s group. “Through the 4 years that I have been in Entertainers, this year has seemed to keep the momentum rolling of our predecessors.”
The Entertainers have a reputation of being an excellent club and they have kept this belief alive throughout the years. They perform for many local groups, at school concerts, and annually at Purdue University.
“I have very high expectations for this year’s group, and I can’t wait to display our talents to the public,” said senior Brandon Jeffries. The Entertainers will be debuting their new talents at their first concert on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 1:00 and 3:00 p.m.
