The boys basketball team had an exhilarating senior night last Friday against the Frankfort Hot Dogs. Senior Chase Almager started off the game needing 21 points to accomplish 1000. Averaging 19 points a game Almager is known for being a strong leader and a big asset to the team. With only 12 people in Delphi basketball history to achieve 1000 points, Almager’s performance on Friday showed his determination to be the next Oracle to attain that goal.
The Frankfort Hot Dogs gave the Oracles a run for their money, keeping the score almost tied up through 4 quarters. Almager, keeping up with the opposing team, started off strong in the first half of the game scoring 11 of his needed 21 points. Coming out of half time, Almager scored 5 points, leaving another 5 to get in the final quarter. Not letting the pressure get to him, he continued to play smart and scored the Oracles those 5 points which led him to the 1000 points for which he was reaching. Those 21 points also contributed to help win the game 72-68, making it a successful night not only for Chase but, more importantly, for the whole team.
