The Oracle wrestling team had sectionals Jan. 28 at Lafayette Jefferson. As a team they scored 32 points, and four wrestlers placed: Brandon Terrell, 6th (120 lb); Aarion Walton, 6th (160 lbs); Javon Frost, 5th (160 lbs); and Lannon Pickering, 5th (220 lbs).

The girls basketball team finished its season Tuesday, Jan. 31. The team’s final record was 10-14 with a 3-4 conference record. The team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the first round of sectionals to a 20-3 team from Seeger. The game ended 50-48, with a last second shot from the Patriots ending the postseason early for the Lady Oracles.

The Lady Oracles swim team had sectionals Thursday, Feb. 2 and Saturday, Feb. 4. During the preliminary round Thursday, the swimmers had to battle with thirteen other schools for placement in the top 16 to advance to Saturday’s finals competition. Saturday the top eight swimmers raced for placements and ribbons, while 9th-16th raced for consolation. Results for the girls are as follows:
