Lady Oracle basketball finds success early in season

The Lady Oracle basketball team is off to a strong start for the season with a 6-5 record. Under the direction of new head coach Mr. Tod Windlan, the team is looking to improve from last year’s 9-13 record. The new coach is working to help the team reach new heights both on and off the court.

The team started off their season with back-to-back wins. Their season opener was a 45-32 win over a conference opponent in the Rossville Hornets. After taking a huge lead in the first half, limiting the opponent to only nine points, the team didn’t look back and started off the season with a win. Next the Oracles went to West Central to face off against the Trojans, winning 40-35.

After their early success, the team was challenged by strong opposition in Twin Lakes, Lebanon, and Clinton Prairie, dropping three games in a row. Despite the short setback, the team quickly bounced back and won four of their next five games, defeating Frontier, North White, and Fountain Central. The only loss in the stretch was to Clinton Central, a conference opponent.
