The ultimate soccer mom

Much too often we forget to appreciate who we have in our lives. We rarely take the time to step back and acknowledge what people do for us. We are aware of what others have done and we are glad they did it, but do we really take the time to thank those people?

She has decorated our lockers. She has made sure we have had food before our games. She has created signs and bought t-shirts for us with her own money. She has done so much for the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams and she deserves some recognition for all that she has done out of the goodness in her heart! She is Robin Teller: the ultimate soccer mom.

Robin has her own kids on both teams, but she treats the entire team as if they were hers. She takes care of everyone. If someone did not order food, she brings them something. If a player needs to be stretched, she will gladly make herself available to be of help to them. Recently, she has prepared both teams’ sectional week by making sure we got treat bags, setting up our team dinners and creating games for us to play.

Colton Britton, junior boys’ soccer team member, said, “Robin tries to do everything she possibly can to help us throughout the season.” He joked, “She is a great soccer mom except for when she forgets to bring our drinks.”

I could go on and on. The point, however, is that she was never told to or asked to do any of it. She does it because she wants to and she does not expect anything in return. The least we can do is say thank you and be appreciative of everything she does for our soccer program.

“Without Robin, I don’t know what we would do. She steps in and helps both teams get organized so nothing slips through the cracks. It’s special when you find someone who cares about the teams and the overall soccer program just as much as the coaches do. She has been a constant figure of support through the ups and downs of both teams and we appreciate what she has done and what she continues to do,” said Alyx Maxwell, girls’ soccer coach.
