Indie singer Heather Maloney to perform at Delphi Opera House
Heather Maloney―a Massachusetts based singer-songwriter―will be performing at the Delphi Opera House on Mar. 4, 2017 at 7:30 pm. Her performance can be expected to be radical and fun filled with folksy-yet-dynamic music unlike anything you’ve ever heard.
Maloney recently released her fifth record, Making Me Break, which landed her on Spin Magazine’s “Artist to Watch.” Of her music, the Boston Globe said, “Her not-so-secret weapon is that voice―pretty but not precious, fully able to launch into aural backflips but perhaps more affecting when intimately expressive.” Her album was so popular that the last song on the record, “Nightstand Drawer,” was played on an episode of CBS’s “Elementary.”
Maloney’s music is a mixture of all of the songs she listened to growing up―folk, pop, rock, 60s, 70s―and influenced by some famous women singers from the 90s, such as Alanis Morissette, Fiona Apple, and Mariah Carey. Sara Daly Brosman, the executive director of the Delphi Opera House, said that Maloney “is definitely someone who will appeal to students” and that her performance “should be a very fun evening.”
