To me, Christmas comes way too early! What I mean by this is that the second Halloween is over there are Christmas decorations in every store and Freeform has already released its Christmas movie lineup. Meanwhile, I’m like “Why are we already putting up Christmas decorations and having Christmas commercials for clothes and exclusive holiday sales?” Shouldn’t we be focused on Thanksgiving, you know the holiday that is in November and not a whole month and three weeks away? Also, why do people think that Christmas needs to be endorsed in November?
By my account, November is a fall month not a winter month. You do not go and endorse Easter in January. For example, if I were to endorse the Fourth of July in February, people would be very confused because everyone believes February’s main colors are pink and red for Valentine’s Day. Having a holiday with the colors of summer green, yellow, and orange along with red, white, and blue representing an outwards and expressive day mixed with the month’s time of simple and elegant romance would just leave a bad taste in people’s mouths. So, imagine Christmas, a holiday associated with winter and snow along with red, green, and white being endorsed in November – a fall season!
Thanksgiving is supposed to be represented with the colors of red, yellow, and orange along with the famous turkey and signature cornucopia that’s a staple of the holiday. Also, when you mess with the month of November, you are also messing with the meaning of Veteran’s Day and America’s passtime – football! It totally throws off what November stands for. December is slowly taking over November until one day December will be two months and who’s to say – we might have a crisis on our hands. Next thing you know, we’ll be making snow-lanterns for Christ-o-ween or we’ll be having ornament hunts hidden by the Christmas Bunny or Reindeer. Who knows what will happen next!
