West Lafayette to host 54th annual Feast of the Hunters’ Moon
The 54th annual Feast of the Hunters’ Moon is Oct. 9-10, 2021. This event will take place along the banks of the Wabash River, just a little southwest of West Lafayette. The Feast of the Hunters’ Moon is an annual event that shows what fall gatherings at Fort Ouiatenon would have looked like during the French and Indian War. and provides an opportunity to see and experience 18th century life.
Thousands of volunteers are on-site to re-enact the time period. Guests of the Feast can try authentic food and participate in activities such as axe throwing, candle-dipping, bead bracelet making, and cross-cut sawing, as well as try on 18th century costumes. As guests wander around, actors share their character’s stories, giving listeners an interesting and unique history lesson.
Tickets can be purchased online, at the Tippecanoe Battlefield Museum, or at the gate. Costs for an adult is $10 in advance, $13 at the gate, or $18 for a weekend pass. For kids 4-16, it’s $5 in advance, $7 at the gate price, or $9 for a weekend pass. Or you could buy a family pass in advance for $30 or $35 at the gate.
