Why Moe’s is better than Chipotle
Many people know me to be an open-minded person. I seldom voice my opinion on most matters unless asked and even then I’m usually a member on the fence. When I do speak out about what I believe, you should know that it is something I am dearly passionate about. One of those things just so happens to be that I think Moe’s is better than Chipotle . . . in every way.
For those of you unfortunate souls who have not experienced the magic that is Moe’s cuisine, I challenge you to give it a try and I promise it will be worth your while. Moe’s Southwest Grill is a Subway-style restaurant serving Tex-Mex dishes. If you’re a fan of delicious, fast Mexican food then Moe’s is your go-to.
At this point, many of you are probably thinking: ‘Wow, that sounds just like Chipotle.” And you would be right and wrong at the same time. Moe’s is much better and, before you ask, yes, I have tried Chipotle.
The differences between Moe’s and Chipotle start as soon as the bell at the door dings, signaling your entry. The staff will always greet you with a boisterous: “Welcome to Moe’s!” no matter the busyness of the restaurant. They make you feel right at home the second you enter. I don’t know about you, but I’ve never been “welcomed” into Chipotle.
Speaking of the staff, Moe’s requires a very outgoing and friendly work crew. It might be because my family has visited there so often, but the workers there remember my dad’s name and are vaguely familiar with our order at the very least. If you were to use the same website for both Moe’s and Chipotle to look at job descriptions (bestjobdescriptions.com), within the first few lines you would see that Moe’s is known for their excellent service while Chipotle is known for being a restaurant chain.
The Subway-style serving that both Moe’s and Chipotle use is very efficient, but can also take a solid chunk of time to assemble one person’s meal. The Moe’s staff works very quickly and accurately, serving customers to the best of their ability. I have never, in my 100+ times that I have visited there, been frustrated by the wait even whilst in a hangry state of mind. The very few times I have made a trip to Chipotle, I have been disappointed by the wait which, overall, put a damper on my mood.
Moe’s also has a variety of menu options ranging from quesadillas and burritos to stacks and nachos. They also offer a junior option for those whose bellies fill up faster and a kids menu with a multitude of choices. They also have many more options for toppings as well compared to Chipotle. You can even add bacon . . . now come on, who can go wrong with bacon! Also, in my personal opinion I think that Chipotle’s rice is much too bland for such a vibrant meal. One thing that Chipotle is loved for is its vegan/vegetarian alternatives and the fact that they use fresh ingredients. Moe’s provides nothing short of that. A complaint most heard about Chipotle is their being out of certain ingredients such as guacamole or grilled vegetables. In my experience with Moe’s, all of the tubs of choices have always been filled.
One of my favorite things about Moe’s is that for about $8 (the price of a single burrito at Chipotle) you get a burrito and chips and salsa to come with it free of charge. Moe’s offers a salsa bar with five different choices for whatever your heart desires: chunky, spicy, citrusy. While Chipotle is famed for its guacamole, Moe’s is famed for their amazing queso. It’s a fan favorite (I’m one of those fans if you haven’t caught on). They still serve guacamole for $1.09, cheaper than Chipotle’s at $2.30 I might add.
Every day, Moe’s is offering a deal no matter which day of the week it is. Moe Monday is my favorite with $6 burrito and drink with the complementary chips and salsa. It’s nearly a steal. Moe’s also offers a deal in which you can get a free meal with every tenth visit to the grill just by using the rewards app.
Moe’s is obviously the Tex-Mex heavyweight champion without a doubt. Anything Chipotle does, Moe’s does and does it better. Chipotle gave it a nice try but Moe’s will always have my heart and it shall have yours too.
