Two classics to be performed at the Delphi Opera House
Last month, auditions for Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, which is to be performed at the Delphi Opera House Nov. 18, 19, and 20, were held. Theatre enthusiasts from the surrounding area came to try out for the beloved roles of Scrooge, the Christmas Ghosts, and Tiny Tim. Practices are now underway, under the direction of Kyle Borcz.
However, A Christmas Carol isn’t the only classic that’s coming to the DOH stage. ‘Frankenstein’ Radio Play will be performed by the Civic Theatre of Greater Lafayette on Oct. 31 at 7:00 pm. Everyone knows of Mary Shelley’s first and only novel, the horrifying Frankenstein, the story of an inventor, Victor Frankenstein, who is determined to have his name go down in history. He makes his creature, only to have it kill everyone he loves and outcast him from society. Tickets are $10-$25 and are available online, at the box office, or to be purchased at the show.
The Delphi Opera House is a beautiful venue that will certainly do these age-old classics justice. Instead of going to a haunted house for an entertaining and scary night, go see ‘Frankenstein’ Radio Play on Halloween. To get in the Christmas spirit, go watch A Christmas Carol, which will feature a few students and teachers from Delphi Community School Corporation.
