New TV shows to premiere this fall

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the start of fall. While the air is becoming cooler and pumpkin flavored everything is overtaking the world of food, the world of television is also receiving a new facelift. While some of your favorites including Gotham and The Voice are making their long-awaited return, new shows like Pitch and Lethal Weapon are looking to put their stamp on their designated networks. For those of us who are craving a new television addiction, here’s a list to help you choose.

 

Timeless: Timeless is an upcoming NBC drama set to premiere on Oct. 3, and will star Abigail Spencer and Matt Lanter. This drama will follow a historian who is brought up to work for a Homeland Security team who specializes in traveling through time.

 

The Good Place: Set to premiere on NBC Sept. 19, The Good Place follows a woman (Kristen Bell) who dies and goes to “The Good Place,” only she’s not actually supposed to be there.

 

This Is Us: This new drama starring Mandy Moore and Milo Ventimiglia is set to premiere Sept. 20 on NBC. This uniquely fresh drama revolves around a selection of people with the same birthday whose lives unexpectedly intersect.

 

Lethal Weapon: This classic franchise is coming to the small screen with two new actors, Clayne Crawford and Damon Wayans, playing the mismatched partners that Danny Glover and Mel Gibson originated. This action-packed drama will premiere Sept. 21 on FOX.

 

The Exorcist: One of the most terrifying movies to ever grace the big screen is now making its television debut on Sept. 23 on FOX.

 

Pitch: Pitch follows the legacy of the first woman to play for a Major League Baseball team. It will premiere on Sept. 22 on FOX.

 

Conviction: Conviction follows the daughter of a former president who works with a team of lawyers to free the wrongfully convicted. It will premiere Oct. 3 on ABC.

 

Designated Survivor: Kiefer Sutherland is making his return to the small screen, and he’s doing it in a big way. Designated Survivor, which will premiere on Sept. 21 on ABC, follows the story of the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development as he is sworn into office following a massive terrorist attack at the U.S. Capitol during the State of the Union address.

 

Speechless: On Sept. 21 on ABC, Speechless, a comedy about a family caring for their disabled son, will make its television debut.

 

Man With a Plan: Set to premiere on Oct. 24 on CBS, this show follows a father who makes the choice to become a stay-at-home dad. Little does he know it’s quite a handful to raise children.
