Taylor Hudelson: sports enthusiast, club participant, world traveler, photographer, social butterfly–all these things as well as a senior at Delphi Community High School (DCHS.)
Taylor Hudelson is one of many students at the high school who deserves a spot in the limelight. She is respected among both students and teachers for her dedication to sports practices, her commitment to academics, and her involvement in numerous clubs. Taylor chose only one sport to be involved in this year (swimming), in contrast to the usual three (swimming, cross country, and tennis) that she usually plays. “I have been swimming ever since I was a young girl. And I have kept with it because I like the environment and I like being challenged to do my best.” said Taylor. “I liked running cross country because I really enjoyed the company of all of my teammates, and I liked tennis because it helped keep me active.” However, focusing on one sport this year has paid off. Taylor broke her first record in swimming as part of the 400 relay team.
But her day doesn’t end after sports practices, Taylor is highly involved in a variety of clubs. This year she is a member of SADD, Key Club, Students 4 Progress, National Honor Society, Yearbook, and 4-H. “These clubs help me to keep my life in perspective–they remind me that I need to not only focus on myself, but the lives of others as well. I think it would be beneficial for everyone to be involved in at least one club a school year,” said Hudelson.
After this spider-hating, Panda Express-addicted, photography-lover graduates from DCHS, Taylor plans on attending Olivet Nazarene University for graphic design. “I like Olivet because it is a friendly community of people and it is a small campus.”
Taylor has made the most of her four years at Delphi and she will leave behind a legacy of a hard work and dedication to her school.
