Delphi has been host to many diverse shops. From pet shops to music stores to rock shops, Delphi has had a little of everything. But finally, a store is opening that will appeal to a unique group of people. Elite Gaming Center has opened up in downtown Delphi on the square.
Cole Stonebraker and Kyle Woods brought and bought T.V.’s and Xbox’s and rented a building in downtown Delphi. There they hold tournaments ranging from Black Ops II to Madden. They have players duke it out online to see who is the best gamer. You can also rent games there and give them a test run before you actually buy them. How it works is you go in, pay a certain amount of money for a certain amount of hours, and then you game it up.
Cole Stonebraker, store owner, said, “The business is doing great so far. I mean it has only been over a month and we are managing. We started taking games in for trades for in-store credit, but equal to cash value. I wanted to start this business because I am a gamer myself and anyone else who is shouldn’t be afraid to tell people that. That’s another reason why I wanted to do it… to create a place where gamers can hang out.”
Senior Braden Kemp said, “It’s a cool place just to hang out and I also like helping Cole with his business. It’s an awesome idea and I want to see it do well.”
The Elite Gaming Center is at 106 W. Main Street and is open 2-11pm Monday through Friday and 2pm-2am Friday and Saturday. The website is www.elitegamingcenter.com and the phone number is 765-564-1111. As Cole always says, “Game on!”
