Baseball and softball begin competitions

The Oracle softball team started its season just before Spring Break on Wed. March 22 with an away game at Lafayette Central Catholic against the Knights. They played seven innings and lost the game in the end 11-9. The team is led by seniors Evann Royal, Riley Paz, Bailee Curts, and Jayden Klopfenstein. The back and forth matchup saw the Oracles lead through the second through fifth innings, but the Knights caught back up and overtook the Oracles in the final innings. Baseball had a scrimmage the same day against the McCutcheon Mavericks. The two teams played innings of ten batters regardless of outs, and the two teams played a pretty even match through the afternoon. Both teams will be in action this weekend with the baseball team having its home opener tonight against West Lafayette, and softball will play its home opener Saturday with a double header against Faith Christian and Lafayette Jefferson.
