Pet Profile: Sunshine Stewart

This little ball of sunshine is actually named Sunshine. Hayley Stewart is the proud owner of her furry friend. Sunshine got his cute little name from Hayley’s dad, who named him after a sunset. Sunshine’s parents were both feral/stray cats and he was born in the Stewart’s shed. He was the kitten that liked people the most and has been a part of the family ever since. Sunshine is now approaching 15 years old. Hayley says she guesses that Sunshine is closest to an American Shorthair, because the breed is known for its variety of colors and patterns. Hayley’s favorite thing about him is how cuddly he is. Sunshine loves attention and snuggling up close with family and friends. His playful personality especially comes out when he tries to lay across Hayley’s book when she’s trying to read. He’s always up for playtime. Sunshine also plays with his friend Alfie, who is Hayley’s sister’s three year old cat. Hayley said her favorite recent memory of him is coming home every day to find him sleeping in her bed. After all, Sunshine’s favorite thing to do – by far – is sleep. Despite Sunshine and Hayley’s playful and loving friendship, Hayley explains, “I would say his favorite person is my mom. He sometimes goes through the entire house, peeking into each room and meowing into it looking for her when she isn’t home.” Be sure to ask Hayley about her precious little Sunshine.
