The Inheritance Games

The Inheritance Games

The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes was one of the more popular reads from spring of 2022 causing me no surprise to find out it is one of this year’s Rosie nominees. The book takes place in modern day from the perspective of the main character, Avery Grambs. Avery started out as a nobody, but when a billionaire, and the richest man in Texas, Tobias Hawthorne, dies and leaves everything to Avery, it all changes. In order to get the money, she has to spend one year living in his Texas mansion with winding, curving hallways and secret passageways. While his four dangerous, secretive, brilliant grandsons are convinced that Avery is a conwoman, they have one puzzle to solve to figure out why Avery got the inheritance, but in order to find the answer Avery will have to play the game too. The Inheritance Games is my favorite off this year’s list (so far). It left me constantly guessing and wondering what would happen next. (4.23/5 stars on Goodreads)
