The “don’ts” of picture day outfits

Almost everyone goes through a mini crisis about what to wear for picture day so they look their best. Of course, it’s important to choose an outfit that suits you, but there’s another consideration: what will please your parents? Here are some tips on how to choose what outfit would be the best for picture day so you don’t have to worry about having to take retakes.

  • Stay away from beige colors.

Normally the flash from the picture washes people out, so beige colors may make you look ghostly when in reality you have a nice summer tan.

  • Accessorize minimally.

Stick to minimal jewelry or at least something that matches your outfit. You want to draw attention to your face without being too flashy.

  • Pant choice doesn’t really matter.

This statement is a given. Nobody can see your pants, so if they don’t match perfectly, it is no big deal.

  • Avoid large logos.

Shirts with large logos draw attention away from your face.

  • Keep your hair ‘tamed.’

Keeping your hair out of your face is probably an obvious point. Picture day isn’t the time to experiment with crazy things.
