Seafire

Seafire

Seafire by Natalie C. Parker is another one of this year’s Rosie nominees. The novel follows the main character, Caledonia, who is the captain of an all girls fleet who must now learn to navigate the seas by herself after her family is killed by a corrupt warlord, Aric Athair. Now her crew (the Mores Navis), made up of girls and women like her (without their families), has one mission: survive. But when Caledonia’s best friend and second-in-command barely survives an attack, Caledonia finds herself questioning if she should join his crew. Is he the key to beating Aric, or is he a threat to the Mores Navis? This book was by no means my favorite on this year’s list, but I didn’t hate it either. (3.85/5 on Goodreads)
