Economics classes compete in stock market simulation
Every semester, Mr. Tonsoni’s economics classes compete in a statewide competition called the Indiana Stock Market Simulation. During the competition, the students work in small groups in a game simulating the stock market, starting with $100,000 and investing like real stock brokers. While the money is fake, the statistics are not. The simulation changes every day based on real changes in the market. The simulation lasts 10 weeks during which the econ students will learn about the ins and outs of trading stocks.
