Anatomy classes dissect fetal pigs

It’s that time of year again: Mrs. Dennison’s anatomy classes are dissecting fetal pigs. The fourth and fifth period classes started on the annual pig unit soon after returning from Christmas break. Since then, they have covered organs and muscles. The class dissects fetal pigs because the anatomy of a pig is similar to that of a human. According to Mrs. Dennison, “When you look at the pig, you’re seeing what you would look like on the inside.” She says that the goal of the project is for students to be able to visualize the internal organs and muscles so they better understand how their body works. Junior Reagan Gleason said, “At first, it was really gross, but now I find it interesting. I still won’t touch it though.”
