Interact, one of DCHS’s service organizations, has split into three main groups: dog walking, Buddy Bags, and the African library. The dog walking group is led by senior Elyse Perry and they will be volunteering their dog walking skills at Natalie’s Second Chance in Lafayette. Buddy Bags is led by junior Ella Hudson and they will be packing bags of food for kids in need. They will be doing this through the elementary school program and will volunteer once a month. Finally, the African library project, led by senior Makaila Summers, will host multiple book drives throughout the year to collect books to send to an African library in the spring. These book drives are very important, as they have to start from scratch due to the water damage that ruined last year’s supply of books.
