National Honor Society inducts new members
The National Honor Society inducted 27 new members on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Little Theatre. To be eligible to be an inductee, students needed to have a grade point average of 3.5 or above with an additional number of service hours to the community. Mr. Painter explained that this year was one of the highest numbers of students that submitted an application, 41, with 27 students making it into the NHS. Mr. Painter said that usually they only induct 15 – 20 students. The induction ceremony included information on the four pillars of NHS (scholarship, leadership, service, character), a procession of the new inductees receiving a NHS pin, and concluded with refreshments.
