Ag Powers restores tractors

Over the course of this year, Mr. Walker’s Ag Powers II class has been working to do a full restoration of multiple tractors. In the class, they have been working on a few different tractors, including a John Deere 70, Allis Chalmers WC, Oliver, and a John Deere H. Some of them have been there for a long time, as restorations can take anywhere from a few months to a few years to complete. Throughout the course of a restoration, the class works on welding, painting, and taking apart and putting together engines, along with other basic shop and mechanical skills. According to seniors Tobias Fredrick and Clayton Yates, “It’s a lot of repetition and it’s a lot of trial and error. We run into a lot of problems. Every time you think you’ve fixed something, you find something else that’s broken. We definitely learn a lot.”
