Senior athlete spotlight: Haley Nelson

Haley Nelson is the lone senior on the volleyball team this year. As a senior leader she is hoping to lead by example and show the juniors what it looks like to lead. Haley has gained a lot of wisdom over her years of playing. “…volleyball is a game of momentum and I have figured out that when you lose that positive energy it brings your team down with you,” said Haley. That is why maintaining a positive attitude is crucial as a leader. With the volleyball team having a new coach with new ideas, the team is adjusting and working to become the best they can be. Haley is hoping that “Covid doesn’t throw them a curveball” and that they are able to play the season out. Nonetheless she is happy that she has so many rewarding memories from her time playing volleyball.
