SADD Blood Drive a success

On Oct. 18, Delphi Community High School SADD members hosted their annual blood drive. To donate, students had to be over 16 with parents’ consent. Students and faculty alike all pulled up their sleeves and made the choice to save a life. There were over 63 people that donated, and some even gave double red. Giving double red means you give twice the amount of red blood cells that you typically give and you can give two patients red blood cell transfers instead of just one. Many of the students in SADD volunteered to help set up, provide snacks and drinks for those who donated, and take down at the end of the day. More people donated this year than they did last year. Hopefully the trend continues so Delphi students and staff can keep saving lives and making a difference in the world.
