DCHS Staff Exclusive: Life in the Press Box

Delphi is fortunate enough to be close to a big college university. With Purdue only 30 minutes away, the opportunities are endless for staff and students. One group has taken that message to heart. Bracketology, Delphi’s resident “sports club,” has obtained press passes to Purdue football and basketball games. The club has sent students and teachers alike to various Purdue games to write articles in real time of the game.

One teacher who has been to many Purdue football and basketball games is Mr. Painter. Painter has had the chance to travel to Nashville for the Music City Bowl where Purdue played, and has also gotten access to 3 games at Ross Ade Stadium. “I think my favorite part of the experience is the post-game press conference. I have seen up-close the head coaches of both Purdue and their opponents, and have participated in interviews of coaches and players,” said Painter. “I definitely look forward to covering more games and especially look forward to bringing more Delphi students along to join in the experience.”
