DCHS staff exclusives: Mrs. Circle and her wonderdog Sassy

If you’ve been to any sporting event within the weeks since school has started, chances are that you’ve seen our principal Mrs. Circle cheering on the students. However, if you look closer, you’ll see that she’s not alone. Sassy, a six month old golden retriever, is often seen with Mrs. Circle, usually drawing a crowd of attention.

Mrs. Circle received Sassy on May 31 as a 50th birthday present from her husband. “People initially think she’s a lab, because she doesn’t really look golden.”

Proudly wearing an Oracles t-shirt, Sassy has attended some soccer, volleyball, and football games, as well as some tennis matches and Powderpuff. “Sassy usually has a bunch of people come up to see her,” says Mrs. Circle. “There are kids who will come up and ask me if Sassy will be at their game.”

Besides those who are excited to see Sassy at sporting events, there are also those who wish to see her in school as well. “Some people have asked me if we could just put her in the LMC for a day.” And as for Sassy? All she had to comment was, “Bark!”
