What is speech class?

Speech is a class dedicated to enhancing the public speaking and communication abilities of its students. This skill development is accomplished through the telling of stories, vigorous debating, exchange of ideas and opinions, and, of course, speeches. The goals of a proper speech and/or debate depends entirely on the speaker’s intent; it could be to inspire, to intrigue, to entertain, or to persuade. When asked how he feels about speech class, senior Drew Hollingsworth stated, “It’s one of the better classes at Delphi.” Senior Joey Money said, “It’s a class where you can open up without being judged.”
