SADD convocation
This upcoming weekend is prom weekend for DCHS. Many students will all be getting ready to make some of their best memories with the people they enjoy the most. But there is always an element of fear that hovers around this weekend as statistics show that too many high school students around the nation choose prom weekend to make very bad choices.
Katelyn Folmar, SADD president, and other SADD officers organized a convocation about teachers and local residents who have been in, or have lost a loved one, from a car accident involving distracted driving. The panel of speakers were Officer Bernhardt, Mrs. Pickering, Officer Reef, Officer Couser, and Carrie Cassidy. Not only was this a memorable convocation for our students, but to hear the stories from faces familiar to the students brought a new perspective and view about the trama and destruction these accidents can cause. The SADD team hoped to reach out to all the students and push them in a positive direction to make smart choices.
