Landscaping
The ag wing at DCHS has so much to offer. With so many classes to offer there is never a dull moment. The latest project happening in the ag wing is the Landscaping 3D models. Students created 3D models of land they currently live on, or land they hope to own in the future, in class and then their hard work was displayed outside the class for people to see and vote for their favorite. Students and staff could come and vote in person or vote online to decide which one was their favorite. Brandon Bassett’s model project was this year’s winner.
Landscaping also does many other things in class. According to senior Braydon Mccarty, “We spend on average about five minutes in the actual classroom. We typically come in and Mr.Plank will let us know what we will be doing for the day. It can be anything from walking around the school and picking up sticks and trash to completely redoing something.” One example of their hard work is outside the front office. Last year they got some assistance from Helms lawn care, and then they got the materials needed to complete the project and remodeled the area. “All that I have left to say is that it is a really hands-on class. You will learn a lot of important life lessons that will help you in the future,” said Braydon.
