Jack Ryan Season Three
Tom Clancy, an American novelist, published his first book about Jack Ryan in 1984. Originally derived from a true story, Jack Ryan was a CIA agent that served in WWII and Vietnam. However, unlike the book character, Jack Ryan was murdered during the time of his service. Tom Clancy got inspiration from the story of the real Jack Ryan and took creative liberties of his own. His first book, The Hunt for Red October, became an almost instant bestseller. Due to the first book’s success, 33 (about to be 34!) Jack Ryan titles are available today on bookshelves all over the world. Sadly, Tom Clancy only wrote about half of them, due to his death in 2013.
After the book series started taking traction, production companies started reaching out. As a result, five films were created in the Jack Ryan movie franchise. These films did extremely well at the box office and starred famous actors like Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, Chris Pine, and Ben Affleck. The series spanned almost two decades, with the last movie being released in 2014. After the final movie, readers and viewers of the book and movie series were devastated that no further installments would be coming.
Luckily for fans, Amazon Studios and Paramount Television teamed together in 2018 to create a TV series with the same name. Jack Ryan (the TV series) is high-action and intense, yet believable. It tells the story of how a CIA agent working a desk job ends up saving the world, which is an amazing plot line in my opinion. Also a smashing success, a second season was released in 2019. Due to production delays (enter in COVID-19), the third season was delayed . . . and delayed . . . and delayed again.
Finally, the much-rumored season three of Jack Ryan was confirmed by the official trailer release on YouTube. If you want to kick-start your Christmas break, Jack Ryan season three will be premiering December 21 on Amazon Prime Video.
