Faculty Feature: Mrs. Hartman

  • Where are your favorite places to eat out?
  • My favorite fast-food place to eat at would have to be Chick-fil-A! I love Italian food, so my favorite sit-down place to eat at is Olive Garden . . . I love their soup!

  • In your extentensive travels, where is one place you would consider living?
  • I actually used to live in Southern Germany. Right now, I would love to live in Arizona. I’m tired of this Indiana winter weather! Also, my family lives down there, so it would be very nice to see my grandkids more frequently.

  • If you could donate $100,000 to any philanthropic cause or charity organization, which one would you choose?
  • I am actually part of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), so I would definitely donate to CASA to improve the program and help children who are victims of abuse and neglect.

  • How do you feel Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant not being on the team is going to affect the Chicago Cubs this year? Or do you think they’ll rejoin the team?
  • I absolutely loved the run they had, but I feel as though the Cubs are better off without them. I’m very excited to see the team rebuild and watch how they continue to evolve. That being said, I am willing to embrace them coming back, but I don’t see that coming.

  • How many foreign exchange students have you hosted?
  • I have had seven students: three full time, and have hosted four others temporarily. Most of them were from Germany, I had a few from France, and even one from Estonia! I love learning their traditions, sharing American traditions with them, and celebrating both of them throughout the year. It’s also so cool getting to know their families, traveling to meet them (or vice versa), and the community it’s brought me. I feel as though I have family all over the world!

  • BONUS: If you were in the witness protection program, what would be your new name and where would you go?
  • My name would be Maggie Stewart, and I would live in New York City.
