DCHS introduces AP Music Theory
A new class was added to DCHS this year: AP Music Theory. The fourth hour class is taught by the band director Mr. Dennison. The class covers the basic elements of music notation and focuses on analyzing, composing, and sight reading music. Mr. Dennison became certified to teach AP Music Theory last year, so due to enough interest, the class was added this school year. So far this year, the class has written two songs. One student in the class, Gabby Bruestle, stated, “I’m excited about being able to compose my own music and change songs between major and minor scales.”
