Boys Tennis

Last year, the experienced 2020 tennis team finished as conference champions with an overall record of 18-2. This season the team is starting anew. The 2021 boys team has several new beginnings this year, as they have a new head coach, Coach Kyle Cross, and a new young group of players. Although there are many new faces, nearly all members of the  team have experience and have been a part of the program during the last several years. As far as plans for this year’s season, Coach Cross stated, “Our goal is simple: to get better every day.” A tasty new addition to the courts this year is that concessions will be offered at every home match. The coaches and players alike are also excited about the new training equipment they have received, that will help them improve their technique and fundamentals even more. A team store with newly designed apparel is also available and could help create more visibility for the program. Coach Cross and assistant Coach Crowel stated that the team needs to continue to work hard to prove they belong, and keep up their diligent effort and winning attitudes. “Previous Delphi teams have set the program standard. Time will tell how far this group can raise the Delphi tennis standard to new heights,” said Cross.
